The Student Success Navigator is directly accountable to the designated Associate Director of Student Success Navigation for the following duties and responsibilities:
The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive leadership role in helping the College effectively manage change.
Provide current and prospective students with sound, professional enrollment and academic advice following guidelines determined by administration and academic leadership.
Maintain superior knowledge of all academic programs and business practices related to the admissions and enrollment processes.
Engage with students and the public via phone, web, and in-person methods under the parameters and guidelines set forth by administration.
Serve as departmental liaison for the purposes of off-site advising, information sharing, and collaboration with assigned academic programs and other departments as directed.
Play an active role in new student orientation, recruitment and other events designed to promote the college and other student success initiatives.
Review and interpret academic records and degree plans for the purposes of course placement and academic advising and maintain accurate records regarding interactions with students.
Maintain accurate records regarding interactions with students using student database and other software as directed.
As a part of the college's risk management tool annual mandatory compliance training is required.
Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree required; prior academic advising experience preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of college admissions, academic advising, financial aid, and state regulations with proven success in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a calm, professional manner
Excellent written and oral communication skills, and demonstrated proficiency in use of computer and/or web-based communications and data-management software; Banner, Zoom, and/or DegreeWorks experience a plus
Superior customer service skills and demonstrated ability to function professionally and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends and travel within Okaloosa and Walton Counties
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands of this position are those of working in an air-conditioned environment.
May be exposed to seasonal conditions of heat, cold, and/or rain.
